Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find information about Open House Prague 2024?

The 10th Open House Prague will take place May 13–19, 2024. Buildings will be open on the weekend of May 18–19, and there will also be an accompanying program on the weekdays. The list of open buildings is expected to be revealed in early April 2024 on our website. News on the festival are published on our Facebook event here.

Who is behind Open House Prague?

We founded Open House Praha, z. ú., a non-profit organization, in 2014, joining Open House Worldwide, an international network of the Open House festivals. Aside from the Open House Prague Festival, which allows you to visit dozens of Prague’s usually inaccessible buildings and spaces for free, we also organize other events. You can join us for guided walks or educational programs for children, volunteers, and people with disabilities. By purchasing tickets to our events or making a purchase in our online shop, you support the work of our organization. You can read more about us here.

How can I find out about the events?

Information about events that take place throughout the year can be found in the Events Calendar on our website. Events are added continually; there is no fixed date for pre-sale announcements. If you want to stay updated, we suggest that you subscribe to our newsletter.

Can I purchase a gift voucher for your events?

Yes! If you’d like to give a walking tour or guided tour from our Events Calendar as a gift to somebody, you can buy a gift voucher in the value of 300, 600, or 1 000 CZK. The gift vouchers can be purchased via GoOut.net.

The price of the ticket is lower than the value of my gift voucher, how can I use the full value of the gift voucher?

The remaining value of the gift voucher can be applied when buying a ticket to another one of our events. For example, if you have a gift voucher in the value of 300 CZK and you’d like to use it to buy a ticket for 260 CZK, you can use the remaining 40 CZK when buying a ticket to another one of our tours.

Are there any admission discounts?

We do not currently offer any discounts, unfortunately. As a nonprofit organization, we have to cover the costs related to the events with our own resources, unlike publicly funded institutions. The profit from admission fees help us fund the Open House Prague Festival, which offers free entry to buildings around Prague. So, by buying a ticket to our events, you support the realization of the festival. If you become our volunteer and help us during the festival, you can attend selected events for free. You can read more about our volunteer program here.

Can I buy a ticket on site?

Unfortunately, tickets cannot be purchased on site due to accounting and logistical difficulties. Because it’s mostly volunteers who help us check in the visitors on our events, we don’t want them to be responsible for the money.

Can I pay for the ticket in cash or by bank transfer?

Yes, both options are now possible. When purchasing a ticket at GoOut.net, you can now select the option payment in cash at any Sazka terminal or payment by a bank transfer. To pay at the terminal, you will need a QR code included in your order sent to you by e-mail. There is an additional fee of 21 CZK. Payment at the the terminal needs to be done no later than 7 days before the start of the event. Payment by a bank transfer needs to be done in 24 hours after you book your tickets. After the payment, you will receive a payment confirmation, and an electronic version of your ticket (pdf format) will be sent to your e-mail in 10 minutes. The fee for payment by a bank transfer is 15 CZK.

Are your events suitable for children?

During the Open House Prague Festival, we organize special guided tours and workshops for children as well. Most of our events such as guided walks and tours in buildings are not intended for children. If you think your children can manage without interrupting, it is necessary that you buy a ticket for them as well. You do not need to buy tickets for children younger than 3.

Are the tours wheelchair accessible?

The guided walks outside are not planned with regards to wheelchair accessibility of the route, therefore, they are not always suitable for strollers and wheelchairs.

Can I take my dog with me?

We suggest that you leave your pets at home. This does not apply to assistance dogs and guide dogs for people with disabilities.

I can’t find the meeting point, who should I call?

The name of the contact person is always indicated on the PDF version of your ticket. Alternatively, you can call our event manager Martina Dvořáková, phone number +420 737 242 732.

I can’t make it to the event. Can I return or exchange my ticket?

Unfortunately, purchased tickets cannot be returned or exchanged. If possible, try to offer your ticket to a family member or a friend.

The event was cancelled. What should I do?

If the event gets cancelled on our part, you will receive an e-mail from GoOut.net with all necessary information.

What are the safety measures?

Entering the buildings is at your own risk. Always follow the instructions of the guide and pay attention to the information details of the event.

Please follow the current measures imposed by the government and hygiene rules to prevent the spread of covid-19. As organizers, we are obliged to check if all event attendees have all necessary documents with them before the start of the event.

Any kind of feedback is much appreciated! You can send us an e-mail to info@openhousepraha.cz.
