What is your profession?

I studied political sciences and sociology at Masaryk University in Brno, and I work as a project manager. In my job I have also focused on city-related topics such as urban development and the use of new technologies in cities.

How did you become a tour guide?

Ever since I was a child, I’ve been passionate about art and architecture. After a breakup, I realized that I wasn’t capable of going on a vacation anywhere on my own, and Open House Prague gave me a chance to try out tour guiding as a festival volunteer.

Which building/part of Prague or architectural style is your favorite?

I like especially architectural styles that originated before 1900. There are styles that are often ignored and even belittled, such as eclecticism and historicism, but I think such styles are as important for Prague as any. I also admire the elegance and simplicity of the concrete towers of the Emmaus Monastery in Nové Město.

How long have you been working with Open House Prague and what do you like about it?

I’ve been with Open House Prague since 2019, and I’m thrilled about the huge amount of work that has been done by this small team – of women, mostly – purely out of their own voluntary enthusiasm and love for architecture.

What are your hobbies?

My friends, Prague, art, good music and good films, old cars, and politics.
